Sidney SN also had a YouTube channel early on. But based on an email conversation 2016 with labels like Hospital Records—and probably Shogun Audio—he took his YouTube down. The labels said something along the lines of not wanting to see mixes on YouTube because of how their music rights work on the platform. But the UK labels wrote this in a friendly way, just out of fear that they need to provide an answer to YouTube when it sees their tracks in a mix as a copyright issue.
It’s possible that the Czech mp3 sets platform itself was the reason interest in Sidney SN began.
For example, another unexpected attention came when Sidney SN started his Instagram. Just like the release of his early mixes, the IG account was made based on a suggestion from someone who thought it was a good idea.
On Instagram, likes started coming in from Soulvent Records, interest followed from Shogun Audio, and even artists outside of the drum and bass scene began enjoying his posts. Roxy Prague also had an interest, for example.
It was probably Sidney SN’s Autumn 2017 Liquid Drum and Bass Mix that caught the attention of C Recordings. On the Czech mp3 sets platform, that mix had the most downloads—probably more than 1,500 in just three or so weeks. Regular for the mp3 sets platform were less downloads.
And Sidney SN in a physical reality…
In a truth, this all although there were no big statements from Sidney SN. He quietly stepped away from the attention in a reality, seeing it as unsustainable for him personally. Maybe that was a mistake. In a truth, he appreciated the support from fans—but everything happened so fast that he didn’t quite know how to handle the applause of his artist name, especially when he was just attending events as a regular visitor and from a start of Sidney SN releasing, he didn’t expect it all for be famous like he is now regular.
